Director of Identity & Access Management
Information Technology Services (ITS) at the MCCCD is looking for a Director of Identity and Access Management (IAM). Under the direction of the Chief Information Security Officer, the Director of IAM will use industry best practices to architect and manage all identity and access management-related functions. The Director oversees identity and access management activities, including strategy, roadmaps, and implementation plans using technology, infrastructure, and services such as Azure, Google Cloud Services, Active Directory, Single Sign-On, and multifactor authentication (MFA). The Director and their team will collaborate with the ten Maricopa Community Colleges and District Office to ensure a streamlined and efficient IAM program.
25% - Oversees IAM activities, methodologies, and solutions around access control, authentication, authorization, account provisioning, approvals, and workflows; develops IAM governance documentation such as policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
20% - Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews, and evaluates the work of staff; identifies training needs and opportunities; promotes professional growth and development opportunities among team members.
20% - Directs needs assessments with customers and peers to develop IAM strategies and technology roadmap; develops, refines, and/or implements advanced technology solutions to meet business needs; provides overall IT leadership and guidance and serves as college and district-wide subject matter expert on various technologies related to IAM
10% - Develops, implements, and monitors activities such as account management, access reviews, and continuous monitoring and reporting; implements key IAM concepts such as least privilege, privileged access, role-based access control, access reviews, and segregation of duties.
10% - Manages and administers budgets and expenditures; identifies and allocates human and financial resources as needed; oversees documentation of processes, current and future state business processes, and workflows.
10% - Works closely with vendors; develops relationships and partnerships to procure technology and services; performs cost/benefit analysis during the procurement process; performs related duties as assigned
5% - Minimum two days onsite at the District Office
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or directly related field and six (6) years of professional experience in identity and access management, which includes two years of supervisory experience.
OR
An equivalent combination of the conferred degree, education, certification and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Eight years of experience leading IAM projects, preferably in higher education
2. Experience applying information security best practices in an IAM environment (e.g. IGA, PAM, NAC)
3. Experience communicating and presenting information to Executives and Governing Boards
4. Current industry certifications in technology related fields (e.g. ITIL, Security, Microsoft, Azure)
5. Experience analyzing and overseeing the analysis of SLAs (Service Level Agreements)
