Another Source's client, Lewis-Clark State College, is recruiting an IT Director to join their team in Lewiston, Idaho.
Internally titled: Chief Technology Officer/Director of Information Technology
Located in the LC Valley, Lewis-Clark State College (LC State) is a unique small-college that is student-centered and provides a hands-on experience. LC State is a place where students can explore options and opportunities that range from bachelor's degrees focused on liberal arts and sciences, to professional studies, to career-technical and community education.
The Role: Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Research, Planning & Effectiveness, the IT Director is responsible for overseeing Lewis-Clark State College's information technology strategies and computer systems consistent with LC State's mission and goals. The position's various responsibilities are summarized in four categories.
As strategist, contribute to on-going discussions about LC State's future, and most importantly make certain that the investment in IT complements and contributes to LC State's Mission and Strategic Plan.
As catalyst, explore innovation through proposed changes to LC State's business architecture, operations, and technology.
As technologist, assess new or competing technologies that improve LC State's processes and manage complexity.
As operator, deliver efficient IT services and solutions that support LC State's mission, while mitigating risk and protecting enterprise assets.
Essential Functions:
Continually analyze LC State's technology for relevance to mission, legality, cyber security and cost-benefit, within college fiscal constraints and state systemness goals.
Advise the President and executive management regarding system use and allocation.
Design a network infrastructure that meets LC State's continuous 5-year horizon.
Oversee and manage contracts with vendors and service providers.
Assure the management of projects and product implementations that meet the constraints related to time and budget.
Recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve operations and budgetary consistency.
Conduct annual IT audits as mandated by Idaho's State Board of Education.
Oversee IT department personnel evaluations, professional development, hiring, etc. to meet continually evolving technology needs of the department and college, with a complementary focus on the ethics, philosophy, and mission of LC State.
Work within LC State's budget process to recommend appropriate systems, replace end-of-life technology, and manage on-going purchases.
Work with the State of Idaho (e.g., Governor's office, OSBE, SBOE, etc.) in order to comply with mandates, systemness, and resource maximization.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Management Information Systems, Computer Science, etc.) from a regionally accredited college/university.
Minimum three (3) years' experience in a similar position with progressive responsibility for - and management of - IT functionality in a medium-to-large organization.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated writing for technical and layperson audiences.
Budgeting.
Ability to manage and motivate staff.
Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
Technical understanding of network design, cyber security, telephony, web, and enterprise systems.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master's degree from a regionally accredited college/university in a relevant field (e.g., MS, MA, MBA).
Experience managing a department in higher education.
Experience developing or managing enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, LMS)
Certified project management expertise with a portfolio of successful projects.
