The mission of Information and Educational Technology (IET) is to create and support an information technology environment that enhances the ability of the UC Davis community to teach, do research and provide public service. In support of the University’s mission, IET will deliver an infrastructure of technological services appropriate to the requirements of the campus community.

JOB SUMMARY
Under general direction of the Student Information Systems (SIS) Supervisor, provide application development support of administrative computing systems focusing primarily on the Oracle-based Banner Student Information System. Design, develop, test, and deploy application code in support of Banner system enhancements, integration with other systems, troubleshooting, and general support. Facilitate and manage communications with functional (end user) areas.
This position works alongside a team of developers in Student Information Systems to support and improve software development tooling and production infrastructure to enable continuous delivery, automated build and test systems, and monitoring and alert systems in support of vendor supplied and custom software. This position will work to help analyze and refactor existing code in support of the Banner Baseline project to closely align with vendor-supplied baseline code, and work directly with cross-campus functional teams to modify/remove outdated legacy code in support of current business requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Experience with Oracle-based information systems.
Experience writing advanced SQL , knowledge of a procedural language for SQL such as PL/SQL or T-SQL , Object Oriented programming concepts, and UNIX shell scripting.
Experience with 3GL and 4GL languages including C or C++/Java.
Experience with management of small to medium projects.
Experience collaborating with functional users.
Written and oral communication skills to covey technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred:
Experience with the Banner Student Information System.
Experience with Java.
Experience with automated code deployments.
Skilled in use of software packaging and release management processes, including utilizing issue and release tracking.
