The Systems Manager is responsible for the design and management of the datacenter systems at the system office as well as related cloud elements in an enterprise environment. This position ensures the availability, scalability, redundancy, and performance of these datacenter elements. The System Manager is responsible for the design, development, and implementation and maintenance of IT and multimedia assets for the System office. This position is also responsible for the administration and management of the Help Desk and supporting all system office employees with their IT needs.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Design data center infrastructure, hardware, and related cloud-based data systems. Maintain a total cost analysis to produce budgets and quotes for such systems to achieve the goals of the enterprise.
Manage the lifecycle and designs the change management solution for all datacenter elements. Maintains operational procedures for all datacenter elements. Make recommendations for expansion of resources when required.
Ensure the Active Directory, VMware server, VMware Horizon, backup infrastructure, hyperconverged hardware systems and storage solutions are maintained. Implement policies and procedures in a cooperative environment.
Design and implement solutions moving forward to promote cloud-based architecture for increased cost benefit, simplified maintenance, and system reliability.
Ensure the entire datacenter’s availability, performance, scalability, security and backup. Works with the office network, security, and enterprise application teams to accomplish the goals of the system office. Work with the ACCS colleges to support their IT goals.
Manage a team of IT technicians, ensuring their tickets and projects are completed within allotted time
Manage the support of multimedia events, video conferencing and conference rooms; oversee production of multimedia files in cooperation with the PR department.
Develop specifications and implement IT assets for the system office including PCs, printers, copiers, tablets, and multimedia equipment. Work with network administrator to ensure wireless, internet and phone service to system office employees.
Manage the system office Microsoft Office 365 infrastructure. Establish and maintain user e-mail accounts and contact lists; provide e-mail training and office software support; provide documentation and update user manual as needed; research and troubleshoot software problems.
Support Active Directory services including DHCP, DNS, WSUS, LAPS, KMS, ADconnect, Sites, and IIS.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
Develop requirements outlines, budgets, and schedulers of replacement of datacenter Infrastructure.
Design maintenance procedures and documentation for the datacenter.
Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology from a regionally accredited institution AND six (6) years of directly related experience OR twelve (12) years of directly related experience.
Minimum of six (6) years of related experience, including installation and maintenance of a Windows based domain.
Four (4) years of knowledge of virtual environment management principles.
Knowledge of computer hardware installation, maintenance, and management.
Ability to communicate effectively.
PREFERRED:
Certifications in Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA); Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE); VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
Master’s Degree in information technology.
