Under the direction of the CIO, the assistant director of information technology systems is responsible for account life cycle management, maintenance, and auditing as appropriate. The assistant director will ensure that authorized users have the right access to college systems, data, and applications, collaborating within and outside the IT department on the development of workflows, system configuration, documentation, optimization, and support related to access. The assistant director will serve as an administrator of the colleges Microsoft 365 tenant.
Associate degree with major in computer science, information technology, or related IT field with five years of work experience in the skills required for the position. Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
Experience managing user access in a Microsoft environment, including experience with Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, Azure, SCIM, SSO, SharePoint, and Office 365.
Strong understanding of authentication protocols and familiarity with networking concepts, as well as the ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to access and authentication.
Knowledge of Microsoft Security and best practices in identity and access management.
Experience in the development of technical user documentation.
Experience in scripting and development using PowerShell. Knowledge of other programming languages is a plus.
Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of users with differing technology skills and backgrounds.
Personal integrity, honesty, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Previous experience in a higher education environment preferred.
