URI Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a new Information Technology (IT) Developer/Operations Engineer in support of the university’s ServiceNow ITSM system.  This position will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operational system functions of ServiceNow as well as working with constituents throughout the university in implementing new features and modules within ServiceNow.  This position works closely with ITS leadership and department stakeholders across the university to administer, develop and provide technical support for ITSM solutions within ServiceNow, including enhancements and new implementations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of two years of software development experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience developing, supporting and maintaining a deployed ITSM system.
• Demonstrated experience with developing Service Catalog and workflows in an ITSM system.
• Demonstrated experience in a minimum of one scripting language: such as Ruby, Python, Perl, Bash, JavaScript, etc..
• Demonstrated IT Service Management knowledge.
• Demonstrated understanding of information technology procedures and practices.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to adhere to institutional policies, plans, objectives, standards, rules and regulations.
• Demonstrated ServiceNow experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in an information technology field.
• Demonstrated experience in higher education.
• Certified ServiceNow Administrator (CSA).
• ITIL certification.
