The LMS Applications Developer is part of the Technology for Teaching and Learning team (TTL) within the Academic Technology Center. This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of data applications and custom reporting for WPI’s LMS (Canvas) with enterprise systems (currently using Snaplogic, Workday, Salesforce, AWS, and other campus systems) to support the institution's strategic and pedagogical goals. This includes analyzing needs, determining specifications/requirements, developing solutions, troubleshooting, and supporting applications and integration platforms. This position also provides faculty and staff with the support and training necessary to use data, reporting, and applications in an academic setting to enhance teaching and student success. This role is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule.

Supports academic efforts in data visualization and storytelling through data; researches emerging data analytics technologies; serves as the liaison between faculty and system administrators.
Supports coursework with large data sets while collaborating with other instructional technologists to organize training opportunities, create innovative solutions, and predict future needs.
Researches and analyzes learning analytics, usage statistics, and data from the learning management system and other learning technologies.
Summarizes complex data in a variety of formats and structures, creating reports and dashboards for management and other end users.
Adheres to data governance standards when working with institutional data and maintains proper documentation of technical specifications, data definitions, and process workflows.
Identifies, optimizes, and automates systematic processes for better efficiency.
Develops and maintains academic technology tools that leverage existing infrastructure and emerging technology. Oversees ongoing development of existing academic technology tools.
Collaborates closely with IT, academic departments, business units, and student support teams to analyze business processes, identify application and integration requirements, and develop solutions to meet business needs.
Offers consulting and guidance to faculty and staff regarding data and analytics
Stays abreast of emerging trends in instructional technology, and when appropriate, makes recommendations to the Instructional Technology Systems Manager.
Provides backup support for other applications supported by Academic Technology Center.

REQUIREMENTS
Familiarity with Salesforce, Workday, AWS, Learning Management System ecosystems and content management tools preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
2 or more years’ experience leveraging third party APIs and developing with iPaaS applications such as Snaplogic, Informatica, etc.
Ability to manipulate data in file formats such as, JSON, XML, CSV.
Experience with SQL, R, Python, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
Experience working with users with a wide variety of technical ability.
Higher Ed experience a plus
Candidate must be customer service driven; have excellent project management, communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills; must be able to adapt quickly to situations as they arise; have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
