What We Are Looking For
The Sr.Academic (Technology) Consultant - HSB Technology Center helps support the mission of Baylor University by providing technology consultation and support for HSB Technology Center services. You will primarily serve the faculty, staff and students in the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University.
The job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
A Bachelors degree, three years of relevant experience, and an active Christian faith are required. A Bachelors degree and five years of relevant experience are preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of education. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
Must be comfortable with and have a good working knowledge of a variety of different technologies
Should have in-depth experience with Windows operating systems, including developing and deploying computer images using VMware Workstation or similar
Should have knowledge or experience using GPO's or similar technologies for mass additions and changes to images
Experience with Mac operating systems is a plus
Should have experience with the use of various audio-visual technologies, such as projectors, displays, control systems, audio, etc.
Must be comfortable with using various web-based platforms for data entry, monitoring and reporting
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Should be analytical and a good problem solver
Should be able to multi-task and prioritize
May provide supervision of student workers
What You Will Do
This position provides technology consultation and support for key HSB Technology Center services. You will primarily serve the faculty (approx. 180), staff (approx. 60) and students (approx. 4,000) in the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University. You will also serve many guests, both university and community wide, with various different events and conferences hosted on the Foster Campus.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the proactive and reactive support of services provided by the Hankamer School of Business (HSB) Technology Center to faculty, staff and students by:
Providing expertise in the development, deployment and support of computer images supported by the HSB
Supporting classroom/lab, departmental and office printing needs
Serving as the main point of contact for events in Foster requiring technology by providing the consultation, support and coordination of its use
Providing immediate and active response for technology issues in classrooms, labs and departmental office areas
Communicating and documenting issues and resolutions internally (within the department) and externally (with faculty/staff/students-our customers)
Assisting with other various facility related technologies and needs.
Providing a professional customer-focused attitude in order to build, maintain and foster great working relationships
Performing other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
