Responsible for management and administrative direction for three functional areas comprised of Microsoft Enterprise Applications and Systems, Middleware, ad IAM. This includes multiple department-facing and department-focused services related to Microsoft products associated with these three functional areas (infrastructure systems, applications, and middleware). These services include but are not limited to Microsoft Office 365 with related student and staff applications including Cloud-based applications, SharePoint online, Skype for Business, expanded Microsoft server operating systems and other related technologies, Microsoft SQL Server services, Microsoft email services, Microsoft collaboration, and productivity services, Identity and access management using Microsoft Active Directory services, and various 3rd- party applications associated with support enterprise and departmental needs.
As a member of the senior management team, provides management and administrative oversight to the Information Technology Services (ITS) supported Microsoft Enterprise Applications and Systems and Middleware. These services include Microsoft Office 365 with related student and staff application impact including Cloud-based applications, SharePoint online, Skype for Business, expanded Microsoft server operating systems and other related technologies, Microsoft SQL Server services, Microsoft email services, Microsoft collaboration, and productivity services, Identity and access management using Microsoft Active Directory services, and various 3rd- party applications associated with support enterprise and departmental needs. Also responsible for the management of the staff and services associated with the Identity and Access Management service provider group as well as direction and oversight for middleware and all associated application support tasks.
Responsible for strategic direction and planning for the FSU Microsoft, Oracle Identify Manager, Middleware, and other technologies and applications supported within ITS. Provides day-to-day direction and assignments to the two Assistant Directors in this unit responsible for the three functional areas (applications, infrastructure systems, and middleware). Researches and seeks opportunities to meet new and growing business needs for the University. Works closely with the team to ensure that applications fulfill end-user expectations. Also ensures that Microsoft services run on fully supported software versions and that supporting hardware is under maintenance.
Prioritizes daily operations and advises upper management with regard to these three functional areas of responsibility. This includes planning, staff direction, staffing decisions, budgeting recommendations, and other key management functions. Works with Enterprise Architect to provide broad strategic oversight and advice to CTO for Microsoft, IAM, and Middleware technology stacks.
Coordinates infrastructure dependencies with the campus-wide consumers of the ITS Microsoft and Identify and Access Management services. This includes administrative, academic and research units as well as individual users.
Performs duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes pertaining to support requests, work orders, project management, change management, and incident management. Appropriately utilizes associated tools in accordance with ITS standards.
Qualifications
Master's degree and four years of experience related to technical services or a Bachelor's degree and six years of related experience.
