Job Description:
Collects, evaluates, and prepares research and/or other complex statistical data for a specific institution unit. Prepares statistical and narrative reports and recommendations and participates in the analysis and interpretation of data as appropriate. Develops, maintains, and ensures quality control of databases and may assist in developing and implementing measurement systems. They bring technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of that data, then process, design, and present it to help people, departments, and the institution make better decisions. Under limited supervision, builds and maintains data workflows, dashboards, and analytics projects. Delivers quantitative analyses in presentation-ready formats to internal and external customers.
Position Hourly Range: $33.65 - $36.05/hour
Hiring salary can be above the posted pay range if candidate's qualifications are determined to be above the minimum requirements of the position description.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Executes within all areas of systems integration, hardware selection and configuration, prototype development, systems configurations, software/data installation and system software.
Manipulates, integrates, and audits data using business intelligence tools that support analysis, business results, and reporting requirements.
Develops and summarize defined analyses into internal and external presentations from integrated data sources that reflect complex custom analytics and data stories.
Assists in designing, developing, testing, and implementing custom-developed cloud-native data pipeline (ETL) solutions to support analysis, business results, and reporting requirements.
Develops and maintain related dashboards.
Develops and maintains technical skills/certifications. Keeps up to date on the industry, best practices, etc. May orient and train more junior level Analyst
Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Knowledge:
Experience with higher education systems
Knowledge of research methodology, principles, and procedures
Abilities and Skills:
Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to prepare research reports and proposals
Ability to design and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain, and analyze data
Ability to utilize statistical computer software
Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications
Ability to interpret, analyze, and apply pertinent policies, procedures, regulations, and requirements
Proven ability to provide detailed information and summaries to management-level individuals and groups and experience presenting technical topics to non-technical audiences
Conduct complete lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities, and design. Data analysts will develop analysis and reporting capabilities. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements
Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Strong organizational skills, with a methodical approach to all tasks
Ability to prioritize workloads and resources, and meet deadlines
Education:
Bachelor's degree or combined experience/education as a substitute for 5 years experience in higher education or related fields
Experience:
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal oversight
Exemplary understanding of the nuanced messaging required for various audiences and communication channels
Experience with large and complex distribution lists
