The Lead Network Engineer position is a dual role where the candidate will be responsible for supporting the Research Network and High-Performance Computing infrastructure and assist the Core Engineering Team in the configuration and maintenance of the UIC academic IP network. This position will work in a multidisciplinary collaborative environment as a member of the academic Network Core Team as well as provide primary support to our Advanced Cyber Infrastructure for Education and Research (ACER) group. This candidate will participate in multi-vendor management, security, and network protocols for the research network environment and the academic network. The candidate must have knowledge of TCP/IP, large flows of data, Science DMZ, HPC networking and have hands-on network exper
