BENEFIT DETAILS
UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. This includes several health insurance options, with annual deductibles as low as $250/individual and $500/family. Our benefits package also includes dental, vision, several life insurance options, AD&D and Accident insurance and Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.
In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually. Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.

As Director of Academic Technology Services, you’ll be on both the front line and the cutting edge. Serving as the primary advocate and facilitator of innovative technology in teaching, learning, and scholarship across all UW-Green Bay campuses.
Closely partnering with the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL), your challenge will be identifying and meeting faculty and student technology needs while supporting the exploration of appropriate scholarly technologies. This is a hands-on working management position. You'll advance digital transformation within the academy by designing, managing, and supporting technology-enhanced teaching spaces.

This position includes the following responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively with CATL, administrators, deans, directors, faculty, academic and administrative staff, and students in identifying and implementing effective uses of technology for teaching, learning, and scholarship.
• Supports CATL and academic programs to integrate forward thinking technology into curriculum design, implementation, and scholarship.
• Supports the education of faculty and students about the effective use of technologies, including (but not limited to) learning management systems, assessment, academic integrity tools, digital courseware, lecture capture systems, and electronic portfolios.
• Serves as the Advocate for academic technology providing leadership and oversight of academic technology operating at both the tactical and strategic levels, in partnership with the CIO and CATL Director. Provides direction in integrating and supporting various instructional technologies for teaching and learning to enhance the educational experience.
• Responsible for contributing to the effective management of academic technology budgets; advocating for required funding to keep facilities and services aligned with the future of the institution.
• Oversee the effective delivery of classroom technology support and design; as well as campus audio visual support services; and other technology enhanced pedagogical spaces.
• May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees.
• Provides effective project management and overall coordination of project teams to meet deadlines.
• Promotes ITIL best practices in service design and delivery, collaboratively with other IT staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree in Instructional Design, education, related discipline at time of application or equivalent experience
• 2 years of teaching and/or information technology experience at a college or university, in a leadership role
• Experience and skill using learning management systems (such as Canvas) and other technologies that support the academic experience
• Working knowledge of best practices in pedagogically effective classroom design
• Demonstrated experience advocating for and advancing adoption of technology in teaching, learning, and scholarship
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, intercultural understanding, and professional development of faculty and staff
• ITIL Foundations certified (or able to achieve within 6 months of hire)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree
• Demonstrated expertise in e-learning, instructional design and distance education
• Demonstrated expertise in pedagogy and teaching methods
• Experience and skill in professional development of instructors
• Experience consulting with instructors on best practices in the use of technology in a higher education environment
