Calvin University is seeking an Institutional Reporting Analyst to assist in leveraging data to support informed decision-making and reporting across the institution.
The primary function of the Institutional Reporting Analyst is to assist the office of Institutional Effectiveness and Analytics in the collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of data for both internal and external constituents. The institutional reporting analyst will:
Extract, analyze, and interpret data for institutional and external reporting.
Develop new and update/maintain existing reports and dashboards to support effective decision-making across the institution
Develop sustainable and reproducible processes to improve the efficiency, consistency, and quality of data collection and analysis
Assist in developing a suite of self-service reports, dashboards, and data connections to improve access to accurate and consistent data across the institution
Produce and maintain documentation of data and processes
Perform ad hoc data collection and data analysis as needed for various constituents across the institution
Play a key role in external reporting (e.g. IPEDS and the Common Data Set)
Qualifications
Bachelors degree required with major in data science, data analytics, statistics, computer science, quantitative social science discipline, or related field preferred.
Experience with R and Tableau preferred.
Skills, Knowledge or Abilities Related to the Job
Basic knowledge of statistics, and the ability to understand and analyze quantitative information
Programming experience using R, or similar language preferred
Experience working with SQL and familiarity with extracting data from relational databases
Detail-oriented with the ability to work under minimal supervision to set priorities and meet deadlines
Experience with or ability to learn data visualization tools such as Tableau and Microsoft Power BI
Effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate technical information to all levels (technical and non-technical end users) of the organization.
Ability to use discretion, good judgement, and maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
