The College of Southern Maryland is searching for an Associate Vice President Information Management/Chief Information Officer who will play a critical role in providing strategic and transformational technology leadership at the college in order to drive technology alignment and cost savings. We are seeking a talented, passionate individual who has at least 10 years of IT experience and can show us:
A strong track record of IT leadership experience
Talent for managing people and fostering an environment of positive employee engagement and trust
Demonstrated experience in facilitating diverse groups to an agreed upon outcome that is aligned with the best interest of the organization
Experience with the Ellucian Colleague ERP system
Experience and innovation with higher education technology solutions
Proven success leading a multi-campus organization through transformation

The work schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flexibility is required.

Essential Functions:
Works collaboratively to maintain and execute a 3-year IT Plan that provides a clear path and model to improving the effectiveness of the IT organization, operations, and services aligned with the institutional strategic direction
Updates and maintains IT and Data Governance that drives transformation
Propels the IT organization in a way that communicates the vision, strategy, priorities, and logistical aspects of IT plans and operations of the college community, providing opportunities for consultation
Develops long-term approaches to the ERP environment to streamline operation across the organization
Champions and leads business process transformation across the organization to drive the highest quality experience and lower costs overall for IT
Supports campus, online, remote and various learning environments across the organization (both academic credit and continuing education/workforce development programs), designs spaces with technology to meet the current and future needs for teaching and learning
Implements a service orientation for Help Desk, user support, classroom technology, and infrastructure operations, where effective communication with the college community is a hallmark
Provides leadership in recruiting, hiring, management, and staff assessment/development of college employees in the IT department
Re-energizes and empowers faculty, staff and end users, and executes the vision for a more modern IT organization
