CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER AND LIBRARY DIRECTOR
Beloit College invites applications and nominations for the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Library Director.
Responsible for all aspects of the Information Technology, Library, and Event Technology Support functions of the College in the department of Library and Information Technology Services, the position reports to Provost and Dean of the College.
POSITION SUMMARY The CIO and Library Director is responsible for the leadership, coordination, planning, and development of technology resources and services to ensure effective and efficient operational support for all enterprise-wide information technology resources in support of the academic and College strategic priorities. The CIO and Library Director provides strategic leadership to a team of approximately 20 information technology and library services professionals and promotes and enables services that support innovation and exploration, inclusion and equity, and balances agile operations with highly reliable, available and secure capabilities.
The CIO and Library Director shall possess a record of innovative and effective ways of working with others, a positive attitude and self-image, and the courage to take risks while working to achieve stated goals. Preferred candidates must have high professional aspirations and be willing to support professional aspirations of the staff. The CIO and Library Director shall be capable of representing the College in regional and national settings and possess an enthusiasm for higher education in a residential liberal arts setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A Master's degree is required in computer science, technology, instructional technology, information or management sciences or appropriate discipline along with a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible leadership experience. Demonstrated record of working on issues related to information technology and an academic library within a relevant institutional setting in a complex academic environment. Experience managing budgets and supervising and managing highly skilled staff in a collegial environment. Experience with large, complex enterprise systems that support administrative computing, teaching, learning, and research is strongly preferred.
ABOUT BELOIT COLLEGE Beloit College (https://www.beloit.edu/) is a private, selective undergraduate liberal arts college founded in 1846 with a total undergraduate enrollment of approximately 1100, and nestled on a 55-acre, New England-style campus situated on river bluffs and surrounded by ancient Native American burial grounds.
