| Reporting to the Director, Learning, Research and Technology, you will lead the activities of the dynamic four member ITS Learning & Design Team. Your team provides creative and effective ways to use technology as part of teaching and learning at Smith College. As a manager in a blended ITS and Libraries department of instructional technologists, media producers, librarians and spatial analysis specialists, you will collaborate in developing new service strategies and models in Neilson Library. Consultation with instructors to recommend technologies that will assist them in meeting their pedagogical goals will be a primary role for you and your team. In partnership with instructors and ITS partners, your team will identify and evaluate new and emerging technologies for use in teaching and learning. As a leader in the organization, you will participate in overall ITS leadership activities, ITS extended leadership group, Libraries management team and represent ITS and LRT in campus wide activities. Essential Functions Manage the ITS Learning & Design team in collaboration with ITS, the Learning, Research and Technology unit managers and campus partners. Consult with instructors to identify appropriate technologies and discuss best practices to meet pedagogical goals and resolve support issues. Conduct hands-on pedagogical and technology workshops for the Smith community. Present use cases of software and instructional technology projects in the classroom for faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Identify, evaluate and assess new and emerging technologies that might be used in teaching, learning and research. Provide resources to faculty about current research on effective use of technology. Develop thoughtful and collaborative processes for technology support and assessment that are scalable, sustainable and in alignment with ITS processes. Collaborate with ITS, LRT and Libraries in the development of service strategies and models in Neilson Library. Participate in cross-team service teams and projects spanning Libraries, ITS and campus partners. Other Functions Coordinate and communicate with other technology professionals on and off campus about issues related to the effective and efficient use of academic technology. Maintain professional skills by attending conferences, workshops, and events.
