Overview
The Application Developer supports and develops NYU's Identity and Access Management systems. Subject matter for this role includes identity systems in support of access and role management such as LDAP, Grouper, Active Directory, and any replacement systems. The Application Developer will utilize a knowledge of identity data models, applications, and supporting technologies such as networking and AWS cloud solutions, as well as familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) at the enterprise level. This position reports to the director of the IAM team within Enterprise Data Management. This individual will interact closely on an operational level with Infrastructure, Networking, and Support teams in architecture development, planning, and ongoing work to bring visibility into IAM team's requirements. Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Computer Science.
Required Experience: 3+ years information technology implementation and development experience; working knowledge of LDAP; broad identity systems engineering experience (e.g. for cloud systems, applications), or an equivalent technology field, or a combination of education or experience.
Preferred Experience: 5+ years of experience in Identity Management.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Good working knowledge and expertise with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) Ability to configure and manage LDAP data models, synchronizations, and components Experience with AWS or alternate cloud deployments Understanding of source management techniques such as GIT Linux shell scripting experience.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: • Working experience with other IAM technologies including: SSO (Shibboleth and OpenID Connect), Duo for MFA, SailPoint, as well as related systems Active Directory, and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, and JIRA. • Working experience with RESTful APIs and SCIM. • Software development lifecycle knowledge, agile methodologies, familiarity with Git/other version control software. • Demonstrated success working in a collaborative environment as well as independently. • Good handle on Cloud operational issues specifically in AWS environment (CloudWatch, EC2, RDS) • Java programming language background • Oracle or general SQL • Testing • Performance interrogations using JMeter/top/similar tools • Ability to tune architecture to allow for best possible cost / value benefit to NYU Qualifications
