The primary responsibility of the Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is to accomplish a wide range of highly complex and specialized professional duties within CCCS-IT. These duties will include such tasks as: providing troubleshooting and support for issues related to the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution; working simultaneously on identifying and solving system related problems and ensuring data integrity; answering help desk tickets as second level IT support; working with appropriate vendors on third level support; and assisting Project Managers in testing IT related projects and upgrades. Issues requiring Developer support often become smaller scale projects that are managed by the QA Analyst, following established project management methodologies and best practices.
Review/create/update detailed testing plans for Student Services related software solutions (CRM Recruit, Banner, DegreeWorks, and other solutions) and assist users with questions related to testing.
Track processes and activities and attempt to preemptively identify and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Work with and assist users with questions related to testing upgrades, patches, and fixes.
Perform research to determine whether incidents occur due to system or user issues. This research may involve, but is not limited to: review of vendor documentation and CCCS business process guides; querying the database; identifying testing scenarios; and extensive and iterative testing. Results may lead to a project that would be followed through to the end.
Participate in project charter and solution design for Academic and Student Affairs reviews as needed. Provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
Test system modifications and/or new software releases to prepare for implementation. Testing results will determine if any necessary research/troubleshooting is required to move the software or releases further along in the process.
Monitor the Ellucian CRM Recruit customer support site to stay informed regarding upcoming upgrades. Work with the Business Technology team to plan for these upgrades. Perform follow up validation, configuration and testing.
Collaborate with system Student Services staff, CCCS-IT management staff, and functional business users to identify, troubleshoot, test, and resolve issues related to CRM Recruit, Banner Student, Banner Financial Aid, DegreeWorks, Accounts Receivable, Parchment eTranscripts, and other Student Services related software solutions. Work closely with the CCCS IT Help Desk to resolve issues and document solutions.
Work with Business Intelligence/Institutional Research to identify specifications for updating current audit reports and creating new audit reports to ensure data integrity. Test audit reports and provide feedback.
Work with developers to identify and document specifications to support creation of scripts to correct data errors, and ensure data integrity. Test the solution and verify that data has been corrected with no other issues introduced.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Relevant experience in the appropriate technical and/or student affairs areas may be considered as a substitute for formal education.
Three (3) years’ experience in the Student Affairs area (e.g. Admissions and Records, Registration, Scheduling, Student Accounts Receivable, Financial Aid), to include experience with Ellucian Banner Student and/or Banner Financial Aid.
Two (2) years of experience with Ellucian CRM Recruit or another CRM product
