Job Description: The IT Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to all members of The Claremont Colleges Services (TCCS) and relevant client college organizations. This client-facing position plays an active role in ensuring quality support is provided at all times with a customer-focus and a bias for action. The ideal candidate demonstrates perseverance and is motivated by new challenges and opportunities for growth, while problem solving with critical thinking and an analytical approach. The candidate is able to resolve issues with creativity and flexibility when required. The candidate can maintain composure in high-pressure situations and expresses tact and empathy to others with a conscientious attitude. The candidate is able to work autonomously and bring value as a team player. This position reports to the Client Support Services Manager in TCC IT who reports to the Director of Infrastructure Services.
Essential Functions: The incumbent performs these essential duties and responsibilities.
Reliably provides a range of technical support duties to TCCS staff and relevant client organizations
Supports and maintains workstations, laptops, mobile devices, and virtual machines with Windows or Mac operating systems
Supports and maintains peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, and other common business equipment
Installs and configures common business software applications used in a business setting
Uses endpoint management tools to enhance the quality of services in a large-scale client environment
Uses Microsoft and other administrative tools to maintain a standard, automated environment
Participates in a team environment to complete project timelines and goals
Actively seeks out new knowledge and experience to effectively assist other teams within TCC IT
Effectively communicates and collaborates in a high-performance team environment
Contributes to diverse and cross-functional teams with all members of the Claremont Colleges
Education: Associate's degree in a relevant field plus 2 years of experience or 3 years of experience with the Essential Functions listed above. One or more relevant industry or vendor certifications.
Experience providing excellent customer service
Experience troubleshooting in a Microsoft Windows or Mac operating systems and software environments
Experience troubleshooting common workstation, laptop, and mobile-device hardware systems
Familiarity with one or more common endpoint management tools, such as Microsoft SCCM, IBM BigFix, PDQ, JAMF, etc.
Familiarity with Microsoft administrative tools such as Active Directory, GPO, DFS, etc.
Familiarity with basic network services, such as DNS, DHCP, etc.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate to audiences with a broad range of technical aptitude and understanding
Demonstrated ability to use strong analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and lead in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Knowledge of TCCS and TCC IT:
Understands the mission, vision and values of TCCS and TCC IT
General understanding of the purpose and function of all units/teams and their relationship with The Claremont Colleges as a whole
Strives to build relationships across TCCS and TCC IT
Understands the structure of the Colleges and their clients, particularly those they work with closely

Required Hours: The regular hours for this full time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the organization or business unit.
