Campus Technology Services division of the Office of Information Technologies is currently seeking an experienced Identity engineer to become a key contributor to our team. As a member of the team you will help develop and implement strategy around Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems, including Okta, Active Directory (AD), and Azure Active Directory. The IAM engineer will assist in implementing security controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the IT assets of the University of Notre Dame. This position will be responsible for the lifecycle governance processes around Okta, Active Directory and Azure AD objects, including user accounts, group management, OU structure as it relates to security and GPOs. Design and architect AD Infrastructures, including design and implementation of Group Policy and domain consolidation.
Plan and design Group Policy Objects to ensure compliance of information security policies and standards for user accounts and group objects
Troubleshoot and resolve AD, GPO, Kerberos, Active Directory Federated Services, MS Azure, MS NPS and wireless authentication, Okta and other authentication and authorization systems.
Work within an Agile team to design and deliver enterprise level solutions
Create and update technical documentation including design documents and use cases
Serve as a technical expert for first and second level support groups
Collaborate and communicate with Information Security Architecture, Enterprise Infrastructure, Networking and other internal departments and vendor partners
Own and lead the IAM AD/Azure AD security strategy (Infrastructure will NOT be owned by IAM or this role)
Provide problem-solving leadership based on experience with directory services, IAM systems and authentication and authorization technologies and solutions
Act as a member of the Identity and Access Management team in providing timely and efficient support to assigned operations
Follow and apply configuration and security standards and policies within a defined Change Management process
Write scripts to automate management of Azure and AD
Establish/recommend policies on system use and services
Provide after hours and on-call support as part of a rotation
Minimum Qualifications: Qualifications
3+ years experience in Information Technology in an Enterprise environment with at least 10,000 users, including experience working in a large IT organization (150+ people) with distributed operations
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
Excellent practical judgment. You should know how to effectively allocate your time when solving hard problems.
Solid PowerShell scripting skills
Experience with authentication and authorization technologies (Active Directory, OAuth2,OIDC,ADFS,SAML)
Certifications desired MCSE: Server Infrastructure, MCSA: Windows Server 2012/2016, MCITP: Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008
Experience with AWS
Experience with Okta
Familiarity with basic networking and related concepts including subnetting, load balancing, firewalls, and DNS
Familiarity with DevOps and agile practices
Familiarity with configuration management and orchestration tools
Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools
Familiarity with basic Git usage and hosted providers (GitHub, Bitbucket)
