The Executive Director of Online Learning & Associate Dean will advise, counsel, and collaborate with the Dean of University College to lead MTSU’s strategic initiative to grow online education. The Executive Director & Associate Dean will be responsible for leading the MTSU online team by coordinating and administering all aspects of a student centered online and distance education program. The position will fully carry out the vison for online and work closely with academic leaders of colleges and programs to promote existing programs as well as develop new online programming for undergraduate and graduate students. The position will also represent the College at various functions at the request of the Dean. The ideal candidate will have significant and successful prior experience developing and implementing an institutional online education strategy and managing a distance education enterprise.
Ten years of experience in higher education with a focus on online education or related experience. Experience in working with senior administrators (eg, president, provost, deans, board of trustees), other university leaders (eg, chairs, directors), faculty and staff. Thorough understanding of issues surrounding the development and expansion of postsecondary distance education programs.
