Berea College is seeking a System Implementation & Integration Analyst for the Information Systems and Services (IS&S) department. This position provides technical support for selected modules of our Banner Enterprise software. The individual is expected to maintain adequate understanding of software technology/function, operational procedures and software vendor support procedures. The analyst is expected to recognize and overcome technical challenges associated with process improvement ideas, and suggest improvement opportunities to users. This analyst will deploy a mix of solutions that includes 3rd party software to create an effective systems architecture to support client needs. Work will involve a mix of technical tasks, communication and coordination between our customers and outside vendors, and process improvement knowledge to support client needs.
Will work with a defined customer base to support their use of specific Banner modules and to oversee the implementation and integration of 3rd party software when necessary to achieve successful outcomes for the client. Assistance might also include help in shaping/defining project goals in ways that make the most of ERP software features, third party technology, cloud services, and offerings from external providers as well as in-house programming and system configuration tasks
Work with primary vendors to update and maintain the viability of the systems in use
Facilitate “best practices” to ensure deployed software is configured in the most effective, optimized, and efficient manner in addressing the needs of the client
Act as technical liaison between software vendors and clients, as needed
Develop custom reports and extensions to the core software package
Design and document operations procedures and assist operations staff in resolving problems with procedures
Assist in the preparation of RFP’s working with IS&S staff, clients, and third-party vendors to facilitate selection of services and products
Plans and oversees the preparation and dissemination of project communications including communications with IS&S administration, project sponsors, functional area managers and outside engineers/technicians regarding status of specific projects. Produces project reports and communicates progress to key stakeholders.
Assist IT Executive team in working out system integration conventions and architecture to guide third-party involvement in project work
Supervise and mentor assigned student assistant analysts, if applicable
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field, required
At least two years’ experience in systems development working with larger enterprise systems and third-party applications or equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education
Knowledge of Ellucian Banner or other academic enterprise software, preferred
Working knowledge of Oracle, SQL, and UNIX, preferred
Experience integrating outside applications (including cloud-based systems) with internal enterprise systems by establishing data connectivity and single sign-on capacity when applicable to support seamless/intuitive access to these systems from our campus portal and mobile apps
