About the Position The Information Technology Consultant is responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and maintaining cost-effective, reliable college-wide computing systems, including end-user desktops (Windows, Mac, local equipment, etc.), the network resources (Active Directory, network equipment, shared folders, physical/virtual secure file servers, etc.) and cloud-based applications (Gmail, iSupport, Zoom, PeopleSoft, Canvas, DaaS, etc.).
The Information Technology Consultant has experience designing and supporting Classroom Technology; Makes recommendations and provides specifications for procurement, installation, support, and maintenance of all requisite hardware and software for the assigned college; Makes recommendations for all college departments; Assists in the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures, and practices necessary for reliable delivery of computing services; Designs and coordinates technology projects with the appropriate faculty, staff, and students; Solicits stakeholder input and builds consensus when making significant changes, and maintains good channels of communication in terms of decisions and policies associated with the delivery of technical services within an Academic environment.
In addition, the Information Technology Consultant provides support through example and leadership to peers, faculty, and fellow staff members; Develops and implements requests and proposals for acquisition of equipment, software, supplies, and services; And keeps abreast of the latest developments in various fields related to computing technologies and in particular to desktop/end-user support.
