Job Summary: Connecticut College is conducting a national search for a creative, committed, and energetic Instructional Technology Specialist to join a team of instructional technology, library, and information technology staff in a merged Information Services department. The college is currently implementing a new and innovative curriculum and the Instructional Technology Specialist will play a key role in working with faculty in pursuit of that goal.
General Duties and Responsibilities: The Instructional Technology Specialist collaborates with faculty to assess course needs and incorporate appropriate and sustainable academic technologies using sound instructional design methodologies. The specialist will provide guidance, technical support and multimodal instruction to faculty and students on the use of academic technologies and software; serve as an administrator to the campus Learning Management System (Moodle), ePortfolio (Digication), and other campus-wide systems managed by Instructional Technology and will develop documentation and communications with the campus community around supported instructional technologies. The specialist will collaborate with Information Services and faculty colleagues to develop and deliver workshops on teaching with technology throughout the year, and as part of an annual summer immersion workshop for faculty; support students, faculty and staff in developing websites for coursework or individual research projects; stay informed on new and emerging trends instructional technology and specific academic softwares and recommend and introduce these to the campus and participate on digital scholarship project teams, using digital scholarship tools and methodology to further student and faculty research.
