This position reports to the Assistant Director, Business Intelligence. The position will rapidly design, deploy, populate and manage enterprise data warehouses and data marts -- skills critical to the growing use of data warehousing. The position designs reports and dashboards working with end-users. The position works independently and also functions as an effective team member in a variety of projects related to the Data Warehouse creation and maintenance. The position may take on the role of support lead or analyst and focus on responding to customer issues.
Duties and responsibilitie of the position include, but are not limited to:
Conceptualizing and developing new reports.
Maintain and update existing reports as needed.
Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures.
Design, implement and maintain dashboards to support system-wide strategic initiatives.
Perform complex data analysis.
Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of an application’s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.
Assist in defining application development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to business requirements.
Provide verbal and written project status
Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines.
Train end users to operate new or modified programs.
Minimal on call availability for system support.
Works directly with the Developers, DBAs, and Project Management Team in a collaborative, cooperative, and customer-centric environment.

Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college or university.
Relevant education and experience in the appropriate technical areas may substitute year for year for the required degree.
Minimum Experience Requirements
2 - 3 years of experience with development of reports using Oracle PL/SQL; i.e. writing PL/SQL stored procedures and queries for data analysis.
2 - 3 years of experience with a Report Writing tool (Cognos, Crystal, Business Objects, etc.), including Dashboarding.
2 - 3 years of experience using an ETL tool (Informatica, Oracle Warehouse Builder).
2 - 3 years of experience as a reporting system architect and developer.
2 - 3 years of experience in Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse, which must include demonstrated proficiency in using appropriate tools:
Strong knowledge of relational database concepts, triggers and stored procedures.
Significant demonstrable experience working with dimensional modeling skills (normalized and multidimensional) including understanding facts and dimensions, star schemas, and OLAP tools and techniques.
Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans.
Preferred Education and Experience Qualifications
Knowledge of Ellucian Banner table structures.
Higher Education experience.
Experience working with Ellucian products, especially Banner ODS/EDW.
Experience with COGNOS.
Experience analyzing Financial, HR, Student or Higher Education data is a plus.
