The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) invites applications and nominations for the position of Business Analyst Team Manager. This is a renewable, full-time, non-tenured, administrative position and reports to the Workday Director. The position may be located in Reno or Las Vegas. The NSHE is comprised of eight institutions: two universities, a state college, four community colleges and a research institute. The public system of higher education in Nevada continues to experience growth with significant opportunities in serving over 105,000 students and 12,000 employees.
The Project Director in collaboration with the SCS Chief Information Officer, Campus Executive Committee (Business Officers Council) and NSHE System Administration is responsible for the oversight of the Workday enterprise system and application environment. The Business Analyst Manager will assist with tactical planning, guidance, design, and support of the Workday business and functional application areas and direct the daily tasks and workplans for the business analyst team. The manager will be responsible for planning and prioritizing Workday operational support change and incident requests, overseeing quality assurance and testing for functional changes, configuring system changes and enhancements, working with the end user community, and ensuring that consistent and standardized processes, methods, tools, and techniques are consistently applied and effectively utilized. Working with other managers on the Workday Enterprise team, and across SCS, the incumbent is part of the overall SCS organization management team and will represent SCS as a professional, courteous, and expert information technology resource to the NSHE community. The Business Analyst Manager will lead process improvement initiatives and will inspire and engage employees and other stakeholders to provide input and embrace new processes, policies, and organizational structures.
SALARY GRADE: D(starting salary range approximately $80,000 - $120,000 and benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life and retirement.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or a related field from an accredited institution is required with 5 years of directly applicable experience and progressively responsible business analysis experience (or) a Master’s Degree from an accredited institution with 3 year of directly applicable experience and progressively responsible business analysis experience. Alternatively, ten or more year’s direct Information Technology work/or related field and/or experience in a large corporation or university with at least two years of formal education or training in a related field may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree, or any equivalent combination of education and experience in which equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities have been acquired.
Background and experience in higher education and/or expertise for a large enterprise or university is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties of this position will include, but not be limited to, the following areas of responsibility:
Provides daily leadership and direction to the Workday Enterprise Business Analyst team
Evaluates and assesses capabilities and skills of staff and incorporates continuous improvement plans for knowledge development and skill building in areas of process improvement, communication, Workday technical configuration, and other tools as needed for the team to be successful. Ensure that consistent and standard methods and tools are utilized and clearly understood.
Assist with project management responsibilities including reporting and collecting metrics of various types to present to SCS management and the Workday user community. Assess and track team performance, workload, and backlog of ticket and issue data, and report progress. Plan for new releases, enhancements, updates, and additional modules and applications within the Workday enterprise environment.
Working with the Workday Enterprise Director, develop long-range plans and strategies for the Workday system and enterprise environment. Participate in contract development and negotiation as required by the Director and oversee and manage work of paid contractors and consultants.
Learn and understand and learn the NSHE business areas supported in Workday, and make recommendation for improving and streamlining processes, ensuring consistencies and standardization for processes across the institutions.
