Reporting to the Director of Instructional Design and Development, the Learning Experience Designer applies pedagogical knowledge in order to design and develop learning experiences ranging from individual modules to courses to full online programs. This position partners closely with faculty and works as a critical team member, aligned to a cohesive vision for flexible, creative and high-quality learning experiences. The Learning Experience Designer fuses instructional design skills with course building and basic user interface skill sets in order to create a user-friendly, contemporary and engaging learning experience online.
Designs and develops online learning experiences, including courses and programs, in alignment with best practices in online pedagogy and user interface design. Partners closely with faculty and programs to create best-in-class online experiences. (40%)
Utilizes tools for course design and development and adheres to style guides and quality standards for learning experiences. (20%)
Utilizes a unified look and feel across eLearning environments. Develops and maintains learning objects in eLearning environments. (20%)
Builds accessibility into online learning experiences, leveraging WCAG 2.0 AA standards, and applying Universal Design for Learning wherever possible. (20%)
Bachelor's Degree and three years of experience
