Working within the University Technology Office (UTO) as a collaborative team member with the Strategic Business and Finance Office and the IT Service Transformation team, the Software Licensing Administrator will acquire software licensing from commercial vendors in support of campus technology needs, monitor and ensure compliance with license agreements, and administer the full lifecycle for acquired software products. The successful candidate in this position will work closely with subject matter experts to obtain information to evaluate and make recommendations that better position ASU UTO to manage and support its software portfolio. This Software Licensing Administrator will be a self-motivated, meticulous keeper of processes and records who will build and maintain inventories and ledgers as needed to optimize value, cost, and risk to the institution.

Navigate the full process of acquiring and maintaining software licenses; including capturing licensing deployment requirements within a Software Asset Management (SAM) repository/tool.
Track and evaluate a wide variety of software assets throughout the product lifecycle.
Monitor and ensure compliance with software licensing agreements.
Develop and maintain UTO departmental framework and timelines for reviewing software licensing, managing and/or recovering costs, and forecasting budgetary impacts.
Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge about software offerings in the UTO and across the university.
Bachelor's Degree in a technology, business, finance, or management-related discipline and 3-5 years of experience in software procurement, licensing administration, and/or IT Asset Management (ITAM) roles; or an equivalent combination of education and experience working with IT asset management professionals to deliver ITAM capability and improved business outcomes; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Experience responding to software compliance audits.
Evidence of relevant industry certifications related to the position such as Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM), Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), and ITIL v3 Foundation Certification.
Demonstrated knowledge of common SAM tools, IT asset discovery technologies, and data analysis techniques
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, methods, processes, and applicable regulations involved in supporting a complex software license portfolio across a diverse deployment landscape
Demonstrated knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and procedures
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting university resources
Demonstrated knowledge of software asset management principles, processes, and software
Experience in managing large enterprise agreements of such software vendors (Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe) in a complex organization or higher education environment
Experience in reading, understanding, and effectively summarizing impacts and risks of End-User License Agreements (EULAs)
Experience in accurately and meticulously track inventory and create reports
Experience in being independent and self-directed as well as to work collaboratively within a team
Experience in developing and carrying out original ideas to solve problems
Experience in stimulating changes in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to create a more sustainable environment
Experience in leading by example in communicating, participating and encouraging support of the institution’s sustainability programs
Evidence of effective interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%)
