Leads the design, development, integration, and support of future-focused IT infrastructure architecture strategies at Arizona Western College. Collaborates extensively with other architects and business units to develop ideal solutions within the scope of college requirements. Adheres to the values of the College and adds value to the College’s mission and attainment of its vision.
Provide leadership and technical expertise in the systems engineering development of requirements, design, delivery, and support of a complex enterprise IT environment. Identify, design, and implement creative business and technology solutions in conjunction with partners across all areas of the college. Work in collaboration with ITSS and business leadership in determining technology needs and priorities.
Provide a framework and set of standards to enable procurement, development, and deployment of infrastructure services that maximize interoperation, minimize duplication, and simplify the ITSS environment.
Ensure adherence to established timelines and project plans; communicate, review, and resolve issues and concerns from partners and team members.
Ensure other ITSS staff are well informed and trained as required, and provides technical guidance to technical and non-technical college employees.
Acts as an advisor on issues of risk, cyber security, FERPA, PII, HIPAA, and PCI. Ensure that all relevant internal financial, data privacy, security policies and risk mitigation best practices are met. Adhere to current policies and procedures, as well as develop and update policies and procedures as required.
Actively engage in a process of continual professional development, encompassing hard technical skills and interpersonal skills.
Participates in college committees, local, and national groups related to professional duties and responsibilities.
Support and participate in strategic initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Required: Associates degree or four years’ experience designing and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure solutions. Professional technical and analytical skills, effective organizational and customer service skills, and extensive experience with architectural best practices and goals. Ability to translate business strategies into architecture requirements, set goals to support objectives, and achieve timely results in a collaborative manner, interfacing with all levels of the organization. Ability to support the development of resource plans and structures, and influence organizational priorities. Expert knowledge of virtualization, Windows servers, and networking; advanced scripting experience; detailed knowledge of risk and cyber security; and functional knowledge of databases and Microsoft SQL Server. Ability to self-manage and prioritize work and balance competing priorities, and to provide clear and useful documentation of work. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment driven by customer service and teamwork. Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, stoop, and lift 50 pounds unassisted.
Preferred: Associate’s bachelor’s’ degree and industry standard professional certification(s). Experience supporting IT in a higher-education setting. Functional knowledge of Windows Server OS and advanced knowledge of PowerShell scripting for Windows systems.
Notes: Evening, weekend, holiday, overtime hours and travel may be required.
