Responsible for providing workstation and network technical support serving equipped classrooms, labs and offices and professional technical work in deploying applications used to conduct daily business, troubleshooting and supporting college desktop computer hardware and software in an enterprise environment.
Four to five years full-time or equivalent part-time work experience directly related to desktop management in an enterprise environment; a combination of relevant education and work experience for a total of four years.
Associate’s Degree in Computer related field desired but not required.
A+ certification helpful.
CRITERIA: The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed. Ability to use software packaging tools to create application packages, including MSI Packages, and virtual application packages.
Ability to use desktop management tools to create and deploy application bundles on computer workstations.
Ability to use desktop imaging tools to create and restore computer images.
Ability to use VMware Workstation tool to create, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot virtual machines in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.
Working knowledge with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policies, Windows Registry, DOS batch files, general scripting, and PowerShell.
Ability to work with Windows 7, 10, Mac, and Linux Operating Systems.
Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, and Macintosh computers.
Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware/software in an enterprise network environment.
Ability to perform routine maintenance of computers.
Ability to perform detailed work independently, as well as in a team environment.
Ability to create and maintain accurate records and documentation.
Ability to work as a team member and with customers.
Ability to work without supervision and to demonstrate initiative.
Ability to complete tasks on time.
Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, communication and customer service skills.
Working knowledge with Microsoft Office.
Must be available to work Monday – Friday during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written Standard English.
