The Data Analyst will work in the Office of Provost to develop reports, conduct analytics, and provide support to Pitt's student success platform, called Pathways.
Duties include: - Automatizing the production of reports - Developing and implementing programs to process and manipulate large datasets - Writing queries for extracting data- Preparing static reports with both tabular and graphical presentations as well as dynamic reports - Providing data programming and analytic support on a range of research projects
In developing new reports and analytics projects, the candidate will work with other members of the team in the analysis, design, testing, and documentation of projects. In supporting Pathways, the candidate will update system configurations, manage user roles, troubleshoot user problems, and conduct training of new users. Candidate must have experience working within a team environment, be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines. The candidate must have experience in query writing (e.g., SQL) relational databases (e.g., Access), visualization software (e.g., Tableau), and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Python) and analysis. The candidate must be good at working with others, taking the perspective of end users, and explaining technical jargon in everyday language to non-technical end users. Clarity in oral and written communication is an essential part of the job.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Data Sciences, Statistics, or related field. One year of experience in database management, business intelligence, or information technology or some combination of related experience and graduate education required.
