Leads the development of digital library infrastructure, workflows, policy and services; oversees metadata and systems projects to ensure resource accessibility; investigates and implements technology initiatives to support evolving modes of teaching, research and scholarly communications; serves as a liaison to assigned academic and participates in shared instructional and research services responsibilities.
Lead the selection, design, implementation, maintenance and ongoing customization of discovery, repository and other integrated systems, gathering input and feedback to ensure that the systems meet diverse and evolving needs of both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Establish processes and structures to ensure the the reliability and integration of the library's discovery, repository and other integrated systems that allow the library to select, acquire, preserve and provide access to the full spectrum of research materials.
Lead development of metadata infrastructure for Tutt Library, including collaborating with the Digital Scholarship and Repository Librarian on metadata standards and policies for Digital CC, the institutional repository; collaborate with campus partners on developing metadata for digital projects.
Take responsibility for local database and discovery systems quality, ensure security and backup of data and explore and integrate appropriate emerging standards and practices.
Investigate and lead the implementation of technologies supporting digital scholarship, digital publishing, open education resources (OER) in collaboration with the Digital Scholarship and Repository Librarian and others.
Develop effective partnerships with the Information Technology (ITS:) staff to create and sustain system integration and infrastructure and support digital scholarship on campus.
Lead or participate in the planning, development, and implementation of digital initiatives in the library and college including collaborating with faculty, Information Technology (ITS:), and other campus partners on digital liberal arts projects.
Oversee the work of two full-time cataloging and metadata staff, directly supervising the Cataloging Supervisor.
Serve as a resource for cataloging staff in the Music Library and Special Collections.
Collaborate with staff in Collections, Electronic Resources & Serials, and Government Documents to coordinate technical services workflows.
Supervise Library Technology Specialist in managing the ILS, discovery system, proxy server, website, and other library systems.
Seek input from and actively engages the campus community and library stakeholders in order to improve discovery and shape digital library development; pursues opportunities to enhance the user experience or implement new technologies in response to user needs and library and campus priorities.
Provide leadership in development of the library website.
Support local implementation of technology initiatives of the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries, including Prospector.
Liaison, Instruction and Research Services:
Serve as the liaison librarian for assigned academic departments or programs as determined based on library needs and incumbent’s background and interests; keep departmental faculty and staff informed of library services; collaborate with liaison librarians for all academic departments in the design and delivery of library instruction programs; provide library instruction and develop supporting collections for assigned departments; participates in instruction for first year (FYE) program.
Contribute to overall collection development policies and decisions as a member of the Collection Development Work Group; serve as one of a team of librarians providing research/reference service to library users, including instructing patrons in the use of library materials and providing in-depth research consultations, to include some evening and weekend hours; maintain current knowledge of both print and online sources in all academic fields of the college.

ALA-accredited MLS/MSLIS or equivalent degree plus a minimum four years library experience, including both cataloging/metadata experience and library systems experience; proficiency with current cataloging rules and standards and a variety of metadata schema, interoperability and emerging metadata standards; experience with manipulating metadata in batch; ability to evaluate and implement technologies and tools to improve access and streamline workflows; strong organizational skills and ability to accommodate multiple priorities; project management experience; demonstrated problem solving skills; experience with web page development and standards-based web design; Experience using programming languages used in client and server side scripting experience supporting an ILS, discovery platform, EZproxy, and/or other core library systems .; demonstrated success in training staff in the use of new technologies; demonstrated commitment to inclusion and understanding the contributions a diverse workforce brings to the workplace.
Experience supervising staff and providing feedback on performance; experience working with digital preservation platforms; interest in serving the needs of a small, residential undergraduate liberal arts campus and maximizing access to library resources; experience with library cataloging software such as OCLC Connexion and MarcEdit; working knowledge of database systems such as MySQL or Access; experience facilitating systems migrations, preferably ILS or digital archives migration; experience creating web-accessible databases.
