Manages public computer labs, and works to enhance the efficiency and delivery of academic software platforms at Colorado College.
Manage all aspects of public computer labs including design of the spaces, hardware and software support, software image creation and deployment, and process documentation.
Lead the design, execution, and support of moving computer labs to a virtual platform.
Maintain public computing operations, including reporting detailed analytics of lab operations.
Provide research and development of a centralized system for image management/deployment.
Develop the strategy to improve, enhance, and update the academic software delivery in a physical and virtual lab environment as technology advances to implement industry best practices and leading edge solutions.
Serve as subject matter expert and work as part of a team with other lab managers to enhance and simplify physical and virtual computer labs.
Work with college constituents on evaluating academic software and coordinates integration of software throughout the public computing operations; coordinate a software repository for specialized software.
Maintain the central licensing systems, including adding, updating, removing licensing information, and reporting on license usage to support recurring purchasing.
Collaborate in the design, management, and deployment of mobile/tablet devices used in academic settings.
Actively participate in department/college projects and/or committees and strategic initiatives.
Continuously evaluate maximizing the use of existing resource and new resource applications.
Support and actively contribute to the goal of achieving greater diversity, inclusion and equity at Colorado College and work effectively with all members of the campus community.
Promote a culture of safety and environmental protection by working in a safe manner; immediately reporting unsafe situations and accidents; following college procedures; and participating in appropriate safety training.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience plus a minimum of four years of related experience, to include managing physical and/or virtual computer labs; understanding of Microsoft server products and management policies, Microsoft desktop products, and Apple desktop and mobile products used in an academic setting; understanding of software imaging systems used in lab environments; advanced knowledge of virtual server products, such as VMWare and VMWare’s Horizon products; familiarity with tablets used in an academic setting, including management and control, using products such as JAMF; experience in a customer service organization, including front-line support, individual training, and group training.
Knowledge of specialized software used in academic settings.
