The Training & Outreach Specialist will consult with Trinity faculty, staff, and students to determine training needs and deliver solutions. Working within the Office of the CIO, the Training & Outreach Specialist develops and delivers comprehensive awareness campaigns, technology-related learning initiatives, and training opportunities focused on ITS services and systems. This position helps tell our story by promoting IT services, communicating changes, and building a technology community by engaging with the campus.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides in-person and remote training opportunities covering topics related to ITS services and systems. Consults with campus constituents in order to gather training needs and preferences.
Collaborates with service owners to keep content updated in the ITS Service Catalog and Knowledge Base and creates original training content, including instructions, handouts, graphics, and videos.
Acts as an administrator for online training libraries and the ITSM platform.
Creates content for multi-channel marketing campaigns (email, social media, website, signage, print collateral) and coordinates awareness and orientation events.
Designs marketing swag, signage, graphics, and related materials.
Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality.
Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications
Background in public speaking and/or teaching.
Experience designing workshops or lessons and supporting documentation, videos, and online content.
Required: Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and skills related to training and service marketing.
Preferred: Skilled in web design (HTML/CSS), social media account management, graphic design, video and image creation, and software administration.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with ITS staff and all campus constituents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education & Experience
Required: Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in either an IT field or education/training.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a higher education IT setting.
