Des Moines University is currently accepting applications for a Senior Solutions Engineer who is a major contributor to the specification, design and implementation of software systems at Des Moines University. The Sr. Solutions Engineer is responsible for supporting the Ellucian Colleague ERP system and related applications. The key responsibilities are: analyze the functional and non-functional requirements, create design specifications, code and debug complex software, administer ERP, investigate and troubleshoot critical problem areas and execute corrective action. Additional responsibilities include: implements maintainable design and code using standard practices and tools, develop standards where needed, investigates new software technologies to meet current and future needs, regular status updates to the related parties.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or 4 years of equivalent combination of education and experience.
7+ years of experience in software specification, design, development, and implementation, with at least 5 years of the experience working with the Ellucian Colleague ERP.
Experience working with customers to solve problems, provide guidance, and enhance their ability to use functional modules in Colleague
Demonstrated proficiency of Envision Basic, Colleague Studio, and the Colleague UniData data structure; experience developing computed columns, batch (ELF) processes, custom screens, and web forms
Demonstrated knowledge of report scripting and SQL; experience with one or more reporting writing applications, preferably Microsoft SSRS.
Experience performing Colleague maintenance tasks such as cloning, patch updates (within a structured SDLC), and general system admin tasks
Demonstrated understanding of Colleague’s ecosystem (core applications along with its various interfaces)
