The Enterprise Solutions department at The University of Tampa has an opening for an Academic Solutions Business Analyst. Under the direction of the Enterprise Solutions Manager the Academic Solutions Business Analyst will be the technical administrator of client's academic systems and serve as an expert in educational technologies and fluent in academic processes and data. The Academic Solutions Business Analyst will serve the client to provide data analysis and reporting, business process improvement, problem identification and resolution, operational administration of applications, technology planning and implementation, training, and strategic partnerships to achieve evolving requirements.
The Academic Solutions Business Analyst will work with the academic community to identify and resolve problems, propose solutions, and develop best practices. They will ensure a continuous and high-quality experience of the entire academic systems portfolio; and that these service offerings are in alignment of the operational and strategic needs of the university.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a strong collaborative relationship with academic administration at the University. Specifically, the Office of the Provost, College Deans, Registrar, Faculty, and Educational Technology Department.
Day-to-day oversight and primary administrator of all academic systems in the following areas: Learning and Course Management Academic Video Management Faculty Activity Reporting and Administrative Workflows (e.g. annual evaluation and tenure & promotion) Course Evaluations and Enterprise Surveying Textbook/3rd Party Education Content IntegrationsAcademic Outcomes Assessment.
Manage the vendor relationship, support ticket communication, and provide technical guidance for upgrades and maintenance of Academic Systems.
Develop, disseminate and implement functional policies, procedures and quality assurance best practices.
Identify and achieve efficiencies through technological workflow improvements.
Assist PMO office in the development of project tasks that support goals, time frames, identify limitations, risks, contingencies, staffing, and other resources.
Maintain documentation of system configurations.
Adhere to policies and procedures as defined by information technology and security management and leadership.
Develop and maintain the service catalog for Academic Systems.
Adhere to change management procedures, and provide timely communication and discussion with users about impact of necessary changes.
Provide ongoing training to IT Helpdesk technicians/student workers, administration training and usage guidance to the Educational Technology Department.
Attendance and ongoing reporting to/collaboration with the Instructional Technology Committee (ITC) standing faculty committee.
Support departmental staff and administration with the identification, evaluation, selection, support and maintenance of systems solutions.
Supervise graduate assistant (s), student worker (s) in support of Academic Systems.
Assist with other Enterprise Applications processes and projects as required.
Provide consistent and current communication that align with management's communication strategies.
Support Information Technology and Security in ISO 27001 related practices to ensure the security and protection of university assets and data.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies, Business Administration or related field.
On-call and occasional weekend work required.
Certification, advanced training, or experience administrating the following applications: Blackboard Learn, Digital Measures, Mediasite, IBM Cognos, MS Project, Class Climate, Qualtrics.
Excellent analytical skills, ability to frame problems and opportunities using supporting data and measuring impact
Ability to present ideas and solutions to a broad audience and clearly convey the message objective.
Ability to facilitate problem-solving among administrative groups with varying needs and priorities, and to communicate well with administrative users, technical staff, and senior management.
Ability to develop usage reports, and perform data gathering analysis of recommended solutions.
Ability to translate user requirements as actionable items for technical teams to execute.
Familiar with project management strategies with the ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate project status and recommend direction for the implementation process.
Strong understanding of higher education business processes and education trends.
Working knowledge of relational database reporting tools.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills across organizational boundaries.
