EDUCAUSE (http://www.educause.edu), a highly creative, entrepreneurial, national nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology, invites applications for the position of Director, Board and Enterprise Planning. This is a full-time, exempt position with the option to work remotely or from the Louisville, CO office. The pay range for this position will be commensurate with skills and experience.
The director of board and enterprise planning is an important leadership position reporting to the EDUCAUSE president and serving on the executive team. The director will be responsible for developing, and coordinating tasks and consultation necessary to ensure successful board meetings; and working closely with the president and other EDUCAUSE stakeholders to assure strategic alignment across the association. In addition to these primary responsibilities, the director will be responsible for enterprise portfolio planning--working with the president, executive team, and the board to ensure appropriate tracking of key accountability dashboards and other measures, including reports on progress toward strategic priorities and the status of annual organizational goals. In years involving strategic planning, the director would take a lead role in this process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with the president and executive team to plan, develop, and implement highly successful board meetings.
Ensure follow-through on requested board actions.
Plan board retreats and board orientation.
Coordinate board policy updates and board elections.
Ensure continuous improvement in board preparation, processes, communication, and resources.
Ensure board materials are completed on time and are of exceptional quality.
Work closely in collaboration with the president and the executive team to guide the direction of the association and lead strategic planning efforts.
Ensure association-wide alignment and accountability across unit, organizational, and board-level goals and reporting.
Coordinate high level enterprise projects and project tracking, including coordinating projects proposed, approved, and completed.
Provide high level review of office of the president budget and complete office of the president budget documents.
Provide support for executive team meetings.
Support organizational initiatives as needed.
Education and Experience:
Required: bachelor’s degree.
Required: a minimum of five years of related experience working in a matrixed organization.
Required: demonstrable experience with high level enterprise project portfolio management, tracking, and process reengineering.
Preferred: familiarity with higher education sector.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to develop and sustain collaborative relationships, forge partnerships, and build consensus within a diverse community.
Excellent strategic planner, equally accomplished at design and execution.
Ability to move between an operational/tactical and strategic focus, as needed; ability to analyze, synthesize, and foster team building.
Proven record as an effective communicator; excellent writing, editing and presentation skills to an audience of diverse stakeholders
Proven ability to manage programs and people; ability to independently initiate, prioritize, and complete various projects in an efficient, timely, and well-organized manner, keeping the appropriate constituencies informed and engaged.
Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and understandable manner to management and board members.
Up to monthly travel to support association business.
