Information Technology Services is seeking applications for a Director of Academic Enterprise Applications. This position will be responsible for leading availability, functionality, maintenance and support of all software applications in-use within their vertical product line(s). In conjunction with the Enterprise Architect, the Director will identify technology solutions to address issues and enable new opportunities for the university in these areas.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Collaborates with business/process owners and end users of applications within the Academic Enterprise Applications stack to help determine needs and system/process maturation
Manage business units’ expectations and the ongoing evolution of modernization efforts. Facilitate the application governance process to gain consensus on a prioritized set of measurable outcomes that applications must support. These applications include Banner, Black Board Learn, BDMS, Banner Work Flow, Target X
Work with the Project Management Office, shall plan and help manage implementation projects related to his/her areas of responsibility, and provide on-going production support, administration, and maintenance of the respective applications
Manages staff consisting of System and Business Analysts, Application Administrators, and Developers. Responsible for staff development, establishing performance expectations and metrics, and implementing a continuing plan to improve the overall performance of the department
Develop operational processes and procedures in accordance with ITIL best practices. Co-develop, review, and communicate an overall applications architecture in alignment with business needs and IT best practices
Oversees the analysis and design of multi-tier applications, and the integration of third-party solutions as well as legacy systems
Responsible for budgetary oversight of departmental budgets
Bachelor Degree is required. A degree in Technology, Information Systems, Analysis, Business or a related field of study is preferred.
A combination of seven (7) years of experience in the following areas are required:
Progressive management/leadership experience
Operational Experience with Enterprise level applications
Overall experience in Information Technology
