University Information Technology Services, within the University of Arizona, Student Administration (SA) PeopleSoft Business Analyst Team is soliciting applications for the position of Business Analyst, Senior to support the Student Records module within the UAccess Student System.
It is an exciting time to join Student Administration (SA) PeopleSoft Business Analyst Team as we are in the process of upgrading to Amazon Web Services (AWS). We will be following shortly thereafter with a 9.2 upgrade and extensive student journey/lifecycle mapping as we work together with our Peoplesoft technical analysts/developers to create Graphical User Interface (GUI) enhancements as part of an larger project to modernize the student experience.
The Business Analyst, Senior is part of a team which provides functional support for various systems and/or applications by being the main liaison between business users and technical teams to identify, analyse and translate needs into specifications. The Business Analyst, Senior position will work directly with the functional units and with the technical team to assist in the optimization of business processes and UAccess systems to improve services for new and incoming students.

Duties & Responsibilities
•Plans, schedules and coordinates the implementation of new or modified administrative systems. • Determines if current policies, practices and procedures meet management objectives and makes recommendations for improvements; recommends and implements security and system enhancements. Advises department staff requiring assistance in solving complex problems or issues regarding management and administrative systems. • Plans, schedules, develops and presents training programs for users of administrative systems. • Reviews, researches, and evaluates computer software to determine its usefulness and appropriateness as related to existing or proposed administrative systems; assists with the development of preliminary and detailed system design documents for in-house and vendor computer systems. •Confers with vendors to resolve technical questions and problems and consults with and advises users in the selection and use of computing options. • Prepares reports summarizing findings, alternatives and recommendations. • Conducts meetings to encourage interactions and the exchange of ideas from various organizations to facilitate solutions to administrative problems. Interviews employees at all levels to analyze policies, work procedures and operational methods for the needs analysis stage of systems development. Works with user in analyzing and defining system design input/output requirements, documents, forms and procedural flow between departments and/or divisions when developing and implementing administrative systems. • Gathers and organizes information on problems or procedures; documents existing processes, systems and organizational structures; conducts operational audits and analyzes data for possible improvements; recommends new or revised systems and implements approved changes. • Acts as project leader on small to medium-sized projects or on a portion of a larger project. May coordinate activities of subordinates. Participates with management personnel in planning, directing and coordinating operational or procedural matters to meet project goals and objectives.
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or related field AND three years of experience in procedural, management or business analysis work; OR, seven years of experience in procedural, management or business analysis work; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
