Bradley University invites applications for the position of Instructional Technologist within the Learning Design and Technology division of Information Resources and Technology.
This position serves as the principal advisor and point of contact for academic units at Bradley University not only by supporting their customers, but through the establishment of partnership with faculty, staff and students. The position is physically embedded within the academic unit allowing for the candidate to serve as a consultant for the college of business providing direct support for all instructional technologies and serving as a liaison with IT. Peer support comes from a growing team of other embedded instructional technologists, AV technicians, and staff that comprise the full IT team.The candidate will also lead a component of Bradley’s newly established IT Governance structure by co-chairing a collegiate technology advisory committee and will have an opportunity to help shape the IT strategy for the college they work with.
As a member of a growing team, the incumbent assists with administration and coordination of learning space technology; system updates (with internal and external system/solutions providers, IT, and customers); evaluation, testing, and planning of software releases and upgrades; analysis and resolution of functional problems; research and sourcing of new learning technology systems; and functional training.
Enterprise instructional technology systems include, but are not limited to: classroom technology, lab technology, learning management system(s), lecture capture, electronic testing and evaluation, communication and collaboration tools, online video technologies, virtualized environments, and other instructional technologies.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the educational environment, an understanding of pedagogical and technological practices and a desire to partner with faculty, staff and students on a daily basis.
