The Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC) invites applications for the full-time position of Database Administrator, position #122550. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Enterprise Architecture. This position is a member of the Enterprise Applications workgroup and works in a DevOps environment. As part of a DevOps team you will be involved in every step of the application development and release process. The DevOps team utilizes and enables the implementation of tools and processes supporting continuous delivery and enhancement of applications as well as taking advantage of cloud based technologies. This position will be responsible for all aspects of database management including database design, monitoring, maintenance, performance tuning, backup and recovery and patching. The database administrator will also develop and maintain stored procedures, functions and scripts. This position supports the management and design of software applications providing services to Florida students and higher education institutions, with an emphasis on applications in the general area of library and student services.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.
Bachelor's degree and four years (or more) of systems engineer/server administration work.
Three or more years' experience with large applications in a production environment with a minimum of two years database management experience with Oracle or SQL Server.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related field.
Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, Postgresql and MySql that covers systems experience such as installation, patching, tuning, storage management as well as application development experience such as writing SQL and stored procedures.
Experience with operating systems: Linux and Windows
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (cloud)
Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually
