The Director of Digital Learning Initiatives will administer, manage, and coordinate strategic plans for courses and program development, expansion, new programs, and innovative digitally mediated learning initiatives. This position encompasses four key areas of administrative responsibility: course and program instructional design, digital learning, faculty and staff engagement, and learning elements. The Director serves strategically contributes to an environment of innovation, collaboration, and overall educational excellence. The director evaluates client requirements and assesses, designs, develops, and evaluates innovative and customized learning solutions to meet needs, effectively interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities include: Collaborates effectively with academic leadership, budget personnel, instructional designers, information technology staff and administrators, enrollment service managers, and other stakeholders to develop and deliver innovative online learning and shape strategic direction for online learning; collaborates across the institution to ensure appropriate student support systems are in to support student success and retention; develops and implements policies and procedures that ensure maximum accessibility in all aspects of online instruction; defines and delivers training and professional development opportunities related to teaching and learning; directs and manages staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations; ensures that all project management standards are followed; establishes and works toward achieving key performance indicators for the various phases of all projects, while identifying opportunities and risks and developing contingency plans; implements a continuous improvement plan, incorporating best practices and identifying root causes to address as needed; maintains a focus on student success, high quality, and clear business processes, as well as planning, scheduling, budgeting, and operational efficiency; maintains effective communication with administration, faculty, and staff.

Require: Master’s degree and at least five years of experience in higher education online instruction development; teaching experience: online, hybrid, or face-to-face; demonstrated experience in building online programs and team processes; LMS administration experience, including user support; excellent communication skills – verbal and written; demonstrated ability to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff, students, and outside contacts; evidence of excellent attendance history.
