University Information Technology Services Department (UITS), within the University of Arizona, is looking for a talented, creative individual with a positive attitude and an eye towards automation to join our Kuali DevOps support team.
This person will be part of an energetic, fast paced team who support enterprise applications, such as the University’s implementation of Kuali Financial System (KFS) and Kuali Research (KR) running in AWS. Duties & Responsibilities
• Develops and maintains a source code revision control environment and associated software development workflows using tools such as GitHub and BitBucket. • Develops and maintains a continuous delivery pipeline and associated automated build and deployment process using Jenkins. • Build and maintain the infrastructure and build environments in AWS as needed. • Provides off-hours on-call coverage for supported systems and services. • Occasionally assists and contributes to development of enterprise Java applications. • Discover, promote and implement continuous improvements in all aspects of the software development lifecycle. • Create and maintain technical documentation.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Production support in a Linux environment. • Coordinate technical production changes, including activities related to release management and infrastructure modifications. • Jenkins, Liquibase, Git. • Ruby & Python, JSON, YAML. • CloudFormation Templates, OpsWorks Cookbooks, Docker, AWS. • A strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience, and/or industry activities. • Demonstrated customer focus through the establishment of strong customer relationships and the creation of processes from a customer viewpoint. • A strong track record of problem-solving in a collaborative team environment, including familiarity with agile methodologies such as XP, Scrum, and/or Kanban. • Excellent written and verbal communication.
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
Five years of experience in programming applications systems using relevant technologies and programming languages; OR, an Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field AND four years of experience in programming applications systems using relevant technologies and programming languages; OR, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field AND two years of experience in programming applications systems using relevant technologies and programming languages; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
