The Principal Data Loss Prevention Engineer is responsible for the oversight, leadership, direction, architecture, implementation, and maintenance of the Data security program, email security program, endpoint security program, file security program, document security program, and elevated access management. Contributes to the University’s security of all regulated (federal and state) data as well as systems and electronic information assets at TAMU.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ten years of related experience. Experience with implementing, administering, and/or supporting multi-factor authentication, SSO, identity management, networks, intrusion systems, cyber security, DLP, cryptography, vulnerability scanners, rootkit detectors, or combination of similar security technologies is required.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be proficient in Data Loss Prevention architecture and design, Endpoint security, email Security, and Access Management.
Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment. Must have strong interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and understanding across a wide range of technology domains and disciplines and the ability to assimilate the inter-relationships of those disciplines. Demonstrable knowledge of enterprise IT risks, including threat tactics, techniques, and procedures and how they are properly tested, mitigated and reduced Ability to manage and tune data loss prevention platforms to ensure optimal coverage, thresholds, and workflows.
Ability to work with appropriate business operating units to understand normal business practices for communicating sensitive data and tailor management response requirements accordingly. Ability to innovate to build upon data loss prevention foundation to begin development of an insider threat behavioral analysis capability.
Ability to develop requirements for escalation and logging in order to baseline data loss risk across the regions. Ability to architect an assurance program to support third-party interactions such that sensitive data is only transmitted with transparency and accountability through a defined process. Ability to join incident response bridges and provide in-depth analysis and solutions in a short amount of time.
