The IT Enterprise Architect (ITEA) is the subject matter expert responsible for developing and recommending subject-specific standards, guides and road maps for enterprise Network technology systems, services and infrastructures in consultation with the Security, IT, campus stakeholders, and operational supervisors.
Working with the Division of Information Technology’s senior technical experts the ITEA facilitates and coordinates the research and development of future-state network and network security architectures and ensures effective adoption. Provides operational direction, guidance and definition of network and network security architecture programs that effectively support business strategies. The ITEA assists in the analysis if the current network environment to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement.
Under the direction of the Chief Information Security and Chief Technology Officers, the ITEA manages enterprise network and network security architecture, design, integration, configuration, and implementation of computer networks, local area networks, wide area networks, internet, intranet, cloud, convergence, and other data communication systems. The ITEA is also responsible for designing and maintaining a roadmap for network and related IT applications and services using a service oriented architecture approach to lead enterprise designs, research, testing, and evaluations of new technologies to support the enterprise technology initiatives of Texas A&M University. The ITEA oversees and forms IT project teams of senior level subject matter experts using internal and external resources to successfully complete IT projects.
Ten years industry specific experience supporting enterprise-level systems in large, diverse IT service environments.
Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience. One year of experience may substitute for one year of education.

Knowledge and experience in the enterprise grade LAN/WAN architecture and infrastructure, design, development, monitoring, implementation, administration, and management of network(s).
Skills in strategic thinking, research, and planning to include: creativity/innovation, design theory, advanced systems theory, risk management, disaster recovery & business continuity, integrating solutions, leveraging strategic resources, strategic partnering, conflict management, advanced change management.
