LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) seeks applications from and nominations of candidates with outstanding credentials for the position of Assistant Vice Chancellor for Information Technology. The Assistant Vice Chancellor will serve as the Chief Information Officer in leading the efforts to deliver efficient, effective, and innovative technology solutions that enable LSUHSC-NO to achieve its strategic and tactical goals and objectives.
Under broad administrative review from the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, the incumbent in this executive-level position will promote the use of information technology for enhancing teaching, learning, research, and efficient function of a broad and complex spectrum of administrative operations. With a primary mission of providing access to secure, high quality, and timely information for faculty, staff, and students, the incumbent in this leadership role will continually evaluate and recommend new technologies as to their capability and sustainability to achieve the University’s goals. In accordance with federal and state regulations as well as LSU policy, the incumbent will provide advisory-level direction to day-to-day operations, problem-solving, oversight of IT budgets, resource management, and will promote the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of university data.
About the Department
The Department of Information Technology for LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans provides information technology services for six LSUHSC-NO professional schools (Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Allied Health Professions, Graduate Studies, and Public Health) and eight centers of excellence. In addition, Information Technology provides a number of IT services to the LSU Health Care Services Division (LSU-HCSD) and their affiliates and provides PeopleSoft administrative system support and account security for LSUHSC-NO, LSU- HCSD, and LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport (LSUHSC-SH). Information Technology also provides IT services through contracts with outside entities.

Candidates must have a demonstrated and verifiable track record of leadership in information technology services, including a minimum of twelve (12) years of progressively responsible experience in a large Information Technology environment with at least five (5) years of senior-level IT management experience. A master’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a closely related field is required. Experience in a higher education environment, ten (10) years of senior management experience in a large IT environment, and experience with data management, data warehouses, and data analytics are preferred qualifications.
