Under general supervision, the Network Analyst provides leadership in managing the CSUN data network. The incumbent provides leadership for major network infrastructure projects including expansion, upgrades, maintenance and repair. Consults with and provides resources to the Information Security Officer (ISO) to insure the infrastructure is secure from internal and external security threats; works with the campus community to ensure the effective and reliable provisioning of data, voice, and video network services by identification of needs and cost effective network designs. Performs other duties as assigned.
Equivalent to graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college or university in a job related field. Extensive experience with designing, deploying and maintaining an Aruba WiFi architecture, Alcatel Lucent switches, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, and Pulse Secure VPN technologies in a large network environment is strongly desired. Five years of fulltime experience, managing large network infrastructures, network management systems, as well as managing projects and project teams; including working in a support role that involved testing and debugging of network and system related issues. Experience with routing, switching, OSPF, BGP, QOS, DHCP, DNS, VPN, wireless, and firewalls is desired.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Extensive knowledge of: data network architecture, devices, protocols, and LAN/WAN interconnectivity. Thorough knowledge of: project management techniques to manage large scale network projects and upgrades; network monitoring and management systems. Knowledge of Alcatel/Lucent, Aruba, Palo Alto firewall, Pulse Secure VPN, F5 load balancer, Wireshark, Scripting. Ability and specialized skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface with other campus departments to provide consulting support to end users; lead interactive debugging, testing and analysis of system failures.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

The salary range for this classification is: $6249 - $10,857 per month.
The anticipated hiring range: $6249 - $8800, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Hours: Full Time 40hrs/wk; 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday; may include some evenings and weekends.
This position is a sensitive position as designated by the CSU.
