North Carolina State University invites applications for the Associate Vice Provost, Online and Distance Education (a full-time, 12 month) position. The position provides leadership for the university’s online and distance education program that offers more than 90 degrees and certificates, enrolling 20,000+ students annually.
The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Distance Education and Learning Technology Applications (DELTA) Senior Management Team, co-lead DELTA’s day-to-day operations and assessment activities with the Associate Vice Provost, Academic Technology Innovation, and engage with colleagues, campus partners, and university leadership to provide comprehensive, efficient and effective services and support for online and distance education initiatives.
The individual selected will demonstrate outstanding leadership and management skills, with proven experience in working effectively with colleagues and as a team leader in a highly collaborative, dynamic academic setting. Background and experience will also include successful leadership of online and distance education initiatives, online and distance education program planning and development, strategic planning, enrollment planning, forecasts and projections, supervisory experience for multiple unit leaders in an academic setting, faculty and student resources and support services, familiarity with accreditation and regulatory standards and compliance.
Required qualifications include an earned doctorate and 8 or more years of experience in a university setting for planning, implementing and/or supporting online distance education initiatives, and budget and purchasing responsibilities.
