The Network Engineer participates in the design, implementation, support, and management of network equipment and systems related to the Networking Services provided by TCC IT for The Claremont Colleges and the Claremont University Consortium. The engineer will identify, troubleshoot and resolve highly complex network issues efficiently. The Network Engineer applies researched and proven methodologies, networking principles, best practices, and validated procedures to routing, switching, and network security protocols. This position reports to the Director of Infrastructure Services who reports to the Deputy Chief Information Officer. - Demonstrated effective communication and collaboration in a high-performance team environment.
- Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining network management tools. - Demonstrated experience working with vendor resources (customer service portals [Cisco TAC]). - Demonstrated commitment to customer service. - Knowledge of LAN/WAN internetworking technology.
Required Knowledge (WIRELESS SPECIALTY): - Knowledge of wireless encryption technologies (including SSL management for captive portals). - Knowledge of wireless connectivity standards 802.11a/b/g/n/ac. - Knowledge of Cisco wireless APs, WLCs, and Prime Infrastructure.
