The Database Administrator serves as a member of the IT Enterprise Operating Systems team to provide operational and technical support for the Oklahoma State University/A&M Banner ERP Oracle database environment, application software and integrated systems.
Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Coordinate with software developers to promote custom developed code and scripts to each software deployment tier - Install, upgrade and troubleshoot Banner application software - Install, upgrade and troubleshoot Banner ODS/EDW database and application software - Install, upgrade and troubleshoot Banner integrated products and applications - Perform complex analysis, programming and implementation of SQL, shell and other scripts - Assist with the optimization of application processes and SQL queries - Participate on project teams to provide DBA support - Participate in the Banner database and application cloning process - Adhere to established processes and procedures for ensuring data integrity, security and recoverability - Document newly developed processes and procedures - Provide 24X7 on-call support for production systems
- Coordinate with end users and software developers to automate Banner job and process flows using Applications Manager - Coordinate with data center operations staff on monitoring and troubleshooting automated Banner job and process flows using Applications Manager - Coordinate with software developers to promote and maintain custom FormFusion templates used for formatting job output - Configure and troubleshoot Linux and Windows printers used with Banner job submission, FormFusion and IntelleCheck
Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work and function within a team environment. Ability to work on multiple tasks under strict timelines. Willingness to stay current on new and emerging technologies. Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. Working knowledge of relational database concepts. Working knowledge of SQL, scripting and procedural programming concepts. Working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
